Funeral services for Mary Duytschaever, 98, of Moline, IL, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00AM Wednesday at the church, where a rosary will be recited at 9:00AM. Mrs. Duytschaever died Thursday January 2, 2014, at St. Anthony Continuing Care Center, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or the Coal Valley Food Pantry c/o St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, IL. Mary was born in Garden Track Addition, East Moline, on October 11, 1915, to Frank and Mary Nowakoski Mankoski Sr. She married Andrew Tworek in 1937. In 1930 she began working at Gibberman Clothing Factory, where she met her longtime special friend, Mary Lindsey, who passed in 2011 after sharing 75 years of close friendship. She later worked for Strombeck & Becker Wood Products. In her earlier days, Mary enjoyed dancing, where she met Camiel "Honey" Duytschaever, whom she married in 1968. He died February 20, 1973. She also enjoyed playing cards, and traveling with Dutch throughout the U.S. Mary was a member of Christ the King Church, Friends Circle, East End Club, the Moline Seniors Club, and CARP. Mary was welcomed into the John Deere Plow Planter Retiree's Birthday Club as a guest of her daughter, Dorothy, and was treated with great respect for many, many years even after the passing of Dorothy. Survivors include her son, Dan (Donna) Tworek, Coal Valley, IL; grandchildren, Debra VanHorn (Steve Seybold), East Moline, Krista (Mike) Snyder, Moline, Ron (Laura) Jones, Aloha, OR, Cheryl (Steve) Dean, Melbourne, FL, Carolyn Tworek, East Moline, Scott (Dai) Tworek, Garner, NC; sister-in-law, Helen Mankoski, East Moline; also included in this five generation family are ten great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dutch; daughter, Dorothy Kochuyt; sister, Anne McMillin; brother, Steve Mankoski and Frank Mankoski Jr. The family would like to sincerely thank Heritage Woods, Moline, Genesis Hospice, and most of all St. Anthony's Continuing Care Center for their loving care for Mary.
