Funeral services for Mary Ann Fotiadis, 77, East Moline, are 11:00AM Monday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 3:00-6:00 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 PM. Additional visitation is from 10-11 AM Monday at the Church. Mary Ann died Thursday, August 6, 2009 at Clarissa Cook House, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to Assumption Church, where she was a member. Mary Ann Thompson was born on September 10, 1931 in Frenchtown, Maryland, the daughter of Samuel C. and Ruth E. (Bines) Thompson. She graduated from Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, DE. She married Nicholas Fotiadis on March 26, 1951 at St. Mark's Church in Perryville, MD, and the couple renewed their vows on February 14, 1986 at Assumption Church, East Moline. Mary was a devoted and loving wife and mother. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Nick; her children and their families, Drs. Marianne N. and Andrew Fridberg, Havre De Grace, MD and their children, Daniel J., Diana N., and Jonathan S., Dr. Susan L Fotiadis, East Moline, Nicholas G. Fotiadis, Austin, TX, Dr. George N. and Marcy Fotiadis, Osceola, IA and their children, Jolene M., Anastacia L., John N., Michael G., and Samuel J., Elizabeth R and Dr. Roger West, Osceola, and their children, Allen M., and Lisa M., and Dr. Ann F. and Deno Kandis, East Moline and their children, Mary F., and Bill D.; sisters, Audrey Harrison of Galena, MD, Earlene Bailey of Perryville, MD, and Esther (Gene) McCarthy, Perryville; and a brother, S. Cecil (Betty) Thompson, Perryville. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ellen Sumpter and a granddaughter Lisa West.
