Mary Hines, 87, East Moline, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at her home. Visitation is 10 until 11 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Graveside services are 11:30 AM Friday at Rock Island National Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Mary Lawr was born February 8, 1922 in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Sidney and Sylvia (Davis) Lawr. She married Frank W. Hines on April 1, 1945. He died March 29, 1979. Mary had worked as a certified welder during WWII and later as a nurses aid at Hammond Henry Hospital in Geneseo and also did in home health care. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and crafts. Mary also enjoyed making homemade wine and an occasional trip to the riverboats. Survivors include her children; Frank Hines, East Moline, Julia Amrine and Roxanne Arnett both of Barstow, two grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a brother Kenneth Lawr of Missouri.
