Mary L Goldstein, 98, of East Moline, died Sunday, December 14, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family.  Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary was born January 30, 1927 in Linn County, Iowa. She was the younger of two daughters of Fred and Ethel Meder. She spent most of her youth in Garnavillo, Iowa. Mary moved to Davenport during WWII. While working on Arsenal Island, she was introduced by a mutual friend to Howard Goldstein, who became her loving husband for 62 years until his death in 2017.

Mary was loved by all, and loved her many long-time friends and especially her family.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, and earned her nickname "The Champ".  She enjoyed dining out, and drinking a good beer, and almost all beers were considered good.

Mary is survived by her children, Nannette (Allen) Doetsch, Nevin (Alice) Goldstein, Nathan Goldstein, Natalie Roberts, Norris (Christina) Goldstein, four grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Georgia Kolwey.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
