Obituary

Mary C. Sacco passed away December 1, 2018 at her home in East Moline. She will be remembered at a private service, including the Rite of Christian Burial at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Anne Church, East Moline, Centennial Fundraiser or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Mary was a lifelong member of the parish and maintained a keen interest in the welfare of the church. Mary was born March 16, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Della Bump Roseman in East Moline. She attended St. Anne School and graduated from United Township High School in 1948. She married Paul Sacco on August 28, 1948 at St. Anne Church. They were able to celebrate 66 year of marriage before he passed away on September 13, 2014. She was a homemaker who excelled at cooking and sewing. Mary was well-known for sharing her baking skills by gifting friends and family with her trays of delicious cookies and candies each Christmas. In her younger years, she was an avid fan of her grandchildren's activities and attended athletic events and band concerts near and far. Survivors are her children Nancy (Alan) Cook, Geneseo and Bruce (Holly) Sacco, East Moline; grandchildren, Matthew (Amber) Cook, Kathryn (Edward Jr.) Plese, Benjamin Sacco, and Anthony Sacco; great-grandchildren, Andriana Schmidgall, Alexa Schmidgall, Sophia Cook, Edward Plese III, and Alexander Plese; and a great-great grandson, Cooper Schmidgall. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Paul and her siblings Elizabeth Blixt, John Roseman, and Frank Roseman.
