Mary J. Schrader, 95, Colona, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services are 11 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is from 10 AM until service time. Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Animal Control.

Mary Roose was born on January 21, 1927 in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Amzy and Clara (McCuen) Roose. She married Jerry Schrader on June 4, 1944 in South Bend. Jerry died March 28, 1995. Mary worked a combined 45 years for the former Turnstyle and Venture stores in Moline and in retirement worked as a courier for MetroLab.

Survivors include her daughters; Gloria (John) Smeltzer, Colona and Sherry (Rick) DeLaRosa, Holland Michigan, six grandchildren, 9 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Robert, Ted, Mildred, Evelyn, Audrey, Liz, Lois, Donna, Marianne, Helen and Cleo.
