Mary Stevens, 103, Silvis, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services are 11 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Parish, where Mary was a life member. Mary Van Hoe was born on December 3, 1910 in Rock Island, the daughter of Joseph and Louise (Modde) Van Hoe. She married Charles Stevens on October 30, 1941. He died on May 26, 1984. Mary retired as the Assistant Chief Operator for the former Illinois Bell Telephone, retiring in November 2, 1949. She had also worked in the cafeteria at the former North Campus of United Township High School. Mary belonged to the St. Anne Guild and the Telephone Pioneers of America. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great greats. In addition to losing her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Agnes Burns, Josephine Strang, Frances Marshall, Antoinette Erhart, Catherine Meiresonne, Albert Van Hoe, John Van Hoe and Joseph Van Hoe.
