Funeral services for Mary A. Weinert, 95, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Weinert died Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Animal Aid Humane Society 239 50th Street, Moline, IL, 61265. Mary was born November 2, 1918, in Mystic, IA, the daughter of Arkep and Mary Osipoff Novekoff. She married Robert Weinert September 2, 1942, in Kahoka, MO. He died November 18, 2009. She retired from United Township High School, where she had been the Cafeteria Manager. She had been past president of the AMVETS Auxiliary Post 145 and past president of the Hoffman Elementary PTA, where she had been very active for many years. She had been a member of First Christian Church, East Moline. All of her life, Mary touched the hearts of everyone she met through her unending kindness and giving spirit. She loved playing cards and especially, going to the casinos. She valued her family above all and loved spending time with them. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Czerwinski, Rock Island; son, Robert Weinert, East Moline; grandchildren, Mary (Mario) Gallardo, Kara (Eric) Smith, Mark (Ronda) Czerwinski, and Matt (Melanie) Czerwinski; 10 great grandchildren; special niece, Jean Albrecht; and special friend, Shirley Longueville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Florence Schnake; and brother, Fred Novekoff. A big thank you to Verna Dergo for always being there.  The family would also like to thank Dr. Alla and his staff at the Silvis Kidney Center and the staff at Hope Creek Care Center for their excellent care.
