Funeral services for Mary Lou York, 93, East Moline, are 10 AM Wednesday at 1st Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Burial is in Hampton Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to 1st Presbyterian Church, where she was a member. Mary Lou went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Rosewood Care, Moline. She was born August 22, 1917 in Menard County, IL, the daughter of Herbert and Hattie (Lenz) Eichenauer. She graduated from Petersburg (IL) High School in 1935. She married Paul York on July 1, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma. Paul died January 9, 1995. Mary Lou had taught Sunday School and served on many of the women's organizations at the church . She was a resident of East Moline for 67 years and wintered in Pharr TX for 17 years. She loved to paint, crochet, play cards, travel and square dancing. Mary Lou would like to be remembered as a care giver to her children, mother and later in life to her husband and her sister. She enjoyed helping others and received many blessings in return. Survivors include her children (spouses); Roxanne(Richard) Sunlin, Plano, TX, Deborah (Larry) Surratt, Springfield, OH, Paul "Greg" (Susan) York, Rockford, Wendy (Bud) Williams, Colona and Libby (Anthony) Paskvan, East Moline, ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and sister Betty Bennett.
