Maryland J. Harkness, 87, of Colona, IL, died Monday, March 7, 2016 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd. East Moline, IL. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation is 4-7 PM Friday the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established. Maryland J. Shook was born April 1, 1928 in Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Loren and Lola Stubbs Shook. She married Roger Harkness August 10, 1946 in Waterloo. He died in 2003. Maryland was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and doing word-finds. She is survived by sons (spouse) Steve (Cherry) and Michael (Marcia) all of Colona, 6 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, sister-in-law, Jo Shook of Davenport and many nieces and nephews.
