Obituary

Funeral services for Max Cacari, 83, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL, where the East Moline VFW Post 8890 and MAVA Hero Street Chapter will conduct military honors. Visitation will be 2-6PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a liturgy service will be held at 5:30 PM. Mr. Cacari died Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Cacari was born May 29, 1923 in Horton, Kansas, the son of Geronimo "Joe" and Maria (Garcia) Cacari. He married Irene Bonilla January 17, 1948 in Moline, IL. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Max had worked as a welder at the former International Harvester, East Moline. He served as Vice President, Union Steward, and Insurance Representative for the Local 1304. He owned and operated Cacari & Sons Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a loving father and grandfather. He loved to fish. Survivors include: his wife of 59 years, Irene Cacari of East Moline, daughters and sons-in-law, Benita and Jose Ramos of East Moline, Lydia Wheeler of Moline, Judy and Rick Daniels of Moline, Tina and Joseph Garcia of Madison, WI; son and daughter-in-law. Christopher and Maryanne Cacari of Davenport, IA; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia Rocha of Davenport, Rose and Rocky Valdivia of Sterling, Theresa and Jess Cruz of East Moline, Mona and Larry Stone of East Moline; brothers and sister in-law, Jerry and Mary Lou Cacari Jr. of Rock Island, Paul Cacari of Mexico; sisters-in-law, Celia Cacari of Moline; Benita Cacari of Rock Island; brother-in-law, Ray Urrutia of Michigan; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his: parents; son, David Cacari; sisters, Elizabeth Reyes and Lupe Urrutia; brothers, Jack Cacari and Peter Cacari.
