Melvin L. Egbert, 69, East Moline, died Monday, June 23, 2014 at his home. Graveside services will be Friday, 9:00AM at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend must be at Van Hoe Funeral Home by 8:30AM Friday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family. Melvin L. Egbert was born September 6, 1944 in Lucas County, Iowa the son of the late Ralph and Virginia Baker Egbert. Survivors include his wife; Candace (Risse), children; Johnna (Clarence) Owen, Rapid City, Glenn Holder, Port Byron, Barbara Simpson, East Moline, Buffie (Charles) Wilcox, MD, Linda O'Hanlon, Dewitte, IA, 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; sisters; Virginia Spillman, Cora Oberman, Colleen Coy, Rita Rominger, Nita Spaur, brother; Joseph Egbert.
