Funeral services for Merlin W. "Bill" McGee, 101, of East Moline, IL, will be 11 am Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 9am until service time Friday at the church. Mr. McGee passed away, Friday, July 1, 2022, at his home.

Bill was born May 8, 1921, in Bussey, IA, the son of Willis B. and Edna (Mather) McGee. He married Betty McNeill April 25, 1953, at the Church of the Nazarene, Moline. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1985, after 34 years of service. He also had a woodworking and crafts business that kept him busy year round. He and Betty loved spending time in their flower garden. Bill had been and active member of the church. He loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, but most of all Bill loved the Lord!

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Betty McGee, East Moline; daughters, Loretta (Harold Robert "Bob") Niles, Coal Valley, IL, and Connie (Adam) Baumann, Moline; grandchildren, Kristia (John) Wickstrom, Heath Niles, and Addison Baumann; and great granddaughter, Jillian Wickstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ione Watters, Margery Goodman, and Alvin McGee.

Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Island.
