Michael S. Bloomquist, 53, East Moline, died Saturday, February 11, 2006 at St. Francis OSF, Peoria. Visitation is 10 AM until Noon Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Graveside services are 12:30 PM Thursday at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Disabled American Veterans. Mike was born May 3, 1952 in East Moline, the son of Harold and Florence (Polios) Bloomquist. He served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam Era. He had worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and at the former International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island. Mike's passion in life was his motorcycle. Survivors include his mother Florence Bloomquist, East Moline, brother George Bloomquist, East Moline, sister G.V. Bloomquist, Iowa, a nephew Michael J., and Uncle and Aunt George and Nancy Polios. He is preceded in death by his father Harold, and grandparents Mike and Veneta Polios and Grace Bogren and Herbert Bloomquist.
