Michael A. Cappaert, 53, East Moline, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at his home. Funeral services are 11 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Mike was born on March 21, 1961 in Moline, the son of Richard and Eleanor (Haase) Cappaert. He graduated from UTHS, East Moline. Mike had worked as an installer for car phones when they were actually mounted in cars. Most recently had been doing home improvement work. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his mother Ele, East Moline, sister Cindi (Mark) Gast, Coal Valley, brother Rick (Linda) Cappaert, Chesterfield, MO and nieces Elyssa and Rebecca. He was preceded in death by his father and his dog, LeRoy. The family would like to thank Dr. Spector and his staff for their exceptional care, Beacon of Hope hospice, especially Cindy and Shannon, and Laura Meyers-DePaepe for her tender care.
