Graveside services for Michael Lee Humphries, 73, of Milan, IL, will be 9:00 am Monday at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend should be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, by 8:30 am. Mr. Humphries died Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Michael was born December 30, 1942, in Rock Island, IL, the son of William and Helen Gannon Humphries. He served in the U.S. Army and Navy, during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked out of the Laborer's Local 309, Rock Island. He enjoyed golfing at Indian Bluff Golf Course and drinking coffee at the Milan Maid Rite with his buddies. He adored his grandchildren. Survivors include his mother, Helen Gannon, Hermiston, OR; sons, Kristin (Amy) Humphries, Bettendorf, IA, and Jason Humphries Johnston, IA; grandchildren, Brennah, Joseph, Samuel, Haley, and Noah; sister, Kay McNamee, Hermiston, OR; his cousins, who he considered his brothers, Dr. David, Mike and Steve Gannon; and his best friend, Dennis Vacek, Milan.
