Funeral services for Michael C. Monn, 74, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Friday, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Trisagion Service (Prayer Service) will be held at 6:30PM. Mr. Monn died Friday, August 23, 2013 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church. Mike was born November 6, 1938 in Chambersburg, PA, the son of Clarence and Pauline Gibbons Monn. He was a graduate of University of Connecticut with a major in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency and was able to travel extensively to all seven continents. He married Roseanne Tsakanikas March 27, 1982 in Fayetteville, PA. He owned businesses in Connecticut and Pennsylvania retiring in 1990. He enjoyed traveling and gardening. Mike was an avid New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. Survivors include his wife, Roseanne; daughters, Michelle Riffle, Woodbridge, VA, and Stacy (Charles) McKinney, Lawton, OK; his father, Clarence, Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, David, Andrew, and Megan Osborne, Lawton, OK; 8 sisters, Helen Tice, Chambersburg, PA, Paulette (George) Connor, Chambersburg, PA, Linda (George) Rensch, Fayetteville, PA, Pat (Robert) Hockenberry, Newburg, PA, Judy (Bobby) Hawbaker, Mercersburg, PA, Cindy (Roy) Shoemaker, Shippensburg, PA, Jennifer Newcomer, South Williamsport, PA; brother Ted Monn, Mercersburg, PA. Mike also has many loving nieces and nephews in Illinois, Minnesota, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his mother Pauline and brother, Jeff.
