Michael G. Munos, 64, Silvis, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center, Silvis. Funeral services are 10 AM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, with a time of sharing special memories at 4:30 PM. Mike was born September 18, 1953 in Galesburg, IL, the son of Robert and Pauline (Sierra) Munos. He graduated from UTHS, class of 1971 where he had participated in band, wrestling and cross country running. He married Gina Hernandez on January 18, 1975 in East Moline. At a very young age Mike was known by his family as the Little Drummer Boy. In his early teens he drummed in his first band, "The Transitions", with his neighborhood friends. He marched with the Los Amigos Drum & Bugle Corps where he played the snare drum. He played drums, congas & timbales for the bands "Amigos" "Solomunlace", "Casino" and "Los Mocambos". He taught drum lessons from his home and Beardsley Light and Sound music store in downtown Moline. Music was his passion and he is well known as a percussionist extraordinaire, an absolute showman on timbales, a monster on the congas. Mike also loved to golf, fish and work in his garden. Survivors include his son Bradley Munos (Stephanie Eckhardt), Davenport, grandson, Storm Munos, his mother and step-father, Pauline and Edmund "Pep" Sandoval, East Moline, siblings, Dave Munos, East Moline, and Pam (Mike) Savala, Bettendorf, step-siblings,Tiffany (Tim) Spurgetis, East Moline, Tori Petrie, East Moline, Jon Sandoval, Silvis, many nieces and nephews and his partner Julie Reynolds.
