Funeral services for Michael R. Oltman, 52 of Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Oltman died Saturday, September 06, 2008 at University Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Mike was born May 1, 1956 in Moline the son of Richard and Ruby (Getty) Oltman. He married Karen (Vermillion) Gang August 6, 1993 in Moline. He had been a Railroad Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed carpentry work and was good at it. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a Dale Earnhardt Sr. Fan. He loved driving trains. He was a loving husband,father, grandfather, and uncle. Survivors include: his wife, Karen Oltman of Moline; daughter, Jennifer Oltman of Davenport, IA; stepson and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jennifer Gang of East Moline; step daughters, Nicole Gang of Rock Island, Jennifer Gang of Moline; 8 grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charles "Chuck" and Paulette Oltman of East Moline; 4 nieces; 3 nephews; and a great niece He is preceded in death by his parents.
