Funeral services for Michael Arthur Versluis, 75, of Colona, IL, will be 11:00 am Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He passed away peacefully Monday, October 2, 2017, at home, surrounded by his loved ones. Mike was born December 20, 1941, in Moline, IL, the son of Emil and Margaret Vandeheede Versluis. He married Denise Cordell December 27, 1985, in Rock Island, IL. He retired from John Deere Harvester, Moline, in 2009, after 46.5 years of service. He was an avid bowler and loved boating on the Rock River. He and Denise enjoyed going on cruises with the " Cruiz'n & Booz'n Gang". He loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Denise Versluis, Colona; sons, Jason (Liz) Whitmarsh, East Moline, Michael (Delores) Versluis, North Fort Myers, FL, and John (Tammy) Versluis, Taylor, TX; 12 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Patrick (Alice) Versluis, Moline; sister-in-law, Lyda Versluis, Higby, MO.
