Michelle Heaton 54 of Moline, IL, passed away on April 14th at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA after a year long battle with cancer. A Celebration of her life will be 7 pm Friday, April 23, 2021 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd,. East Moline. The Celebration of Life will be live streamed by logging into http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome. A memorial visitation will be from 3pm until service time. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or Metropolitan Community Church in Davenport.

She was born to Dennis and Raedene (Verhetsel) DeVooght on July 13th 1966 in Moline. She graduated from Moline High School in 1984 and then Scott Community college with a degree in Interior design.

She is survived by her former husband Shannon Heaton, four sons, Ian DeVooght Heaton Rock Island Illinois, Kieran Heaton (Erin McVey) Rock Island Illinois, Logan Heaton Moline, Illinois and Brevan Heaton Jacksonville, Florida, her parents, her brothers Brent (Kristen)DeVooght, Grosse Pointe Shores MI and Jason (Jennifer)DeVooght, Commerce, MI a niece Olivia DeVooght. and 5 nephews Max, Sam, Charlie, Gavin, Griffin all in Michigan and her current partner, Laura Huston of Moline, IL

She has spent many years designing kitchens and bathrooms. She loved her work and has designed kitchens for Flicks, Lowe's and most recently for KBD in Davenport, Iowa. A very special thank you to KBD for their generous support during her illness. Everyone who knew Michelle knows how much she loved purple. It was very apparent in her hair color, clothes and decorating. She was very creative and shared her talents in many ways. Baking, bead making, cooking, crocheting, felting, jewelry making, knitting, painting and sewing which included costuming many shows for Moline High School and Quad City Music Guild theater productions. She was involved in Cursillo, and TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) in the 80's and 90's She was a member and on the board of the Metropolitan Community Church in Davenport, Iowa

She loved her family and friends and would drop whatever she was doing to help someone. She always saw the good in everyone. Her smile, compassion, creativity and zest for life will be missed by all who knew her.
