Mickey J. Bowden, 80, of Silvis, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 at home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 1550 7th Ave, Silvis. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Friday, November 1, at the church. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline is assisting the family. Inurnment will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemtery. Memorials may be made to the family through St. Mark's Anglican Church, 1550 7th Ave, Silvis 61282.

Mickey was born on May 30, 1944 in Broken Bow, Nebraska, a son of Kurtis and Helen (Vandeventer) Bowden. He married Martha Brooks on August 24, 1963. Mickey worked as the warehouse manager for International Harvester before retiring.

Mickey's hobbies included shooting, volunteering with Boy Scouts of America, woodworking and teaching hunter safety courses for young hunters. He was an avid lifelong hunter and was a long-time caretaker at the Rock Island Conservation Club. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and keeping up with the grandkids and great grandkids.

Those left to cherish Mickey's memory include his wife, Martha; four sons, Tim (Kim), Scott (Sue), Jeff (Jo) and Jason (Jennifer) Bowden; grandchildren, Chad, Cody, Alex, Kaitlyn, Branden, Danielle and Jordan; great grandchildren, Brooks, Bennett, Clara, Annabella and Wyatt; and siblings, SharaLee Broeker and Donnye Bowden.

Mickey was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jacob; and brothers, Jerry and Richard Bowden.
