Funeral services for Mildred Amelia Ballarini, 93, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-8 PM (today) at the funeral home. Mrs. Ballarini died Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at Trinity Pathway Hospice at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Moline, IL or Project Now Meal Site. Mildred Achilles was born March 18, 1913 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of William and Martha (Tatge) Achilles. She married Frank Ballarini, July 10, 1944 in Peoria, IL. He died August 22, 1967. While raising their family, the Ballarini's owned a small acreage where they raised chickens. Once a week Mildred would go to town and sell eggs. This weekly outing earned her the affectionate name "the egg lady". She also sold Avon for many years. She loved spending time with her family. She would attend all their school functions and sporting events. She had been a very active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Moline, where she held many positions over the years. She had also been a member of the Sunny Hill Farmers Social Club and the Ridgewood Tower Social Club, where she had been the Chaplain. Survivors include: daughters and son in law, Bernadene Bowles of Moline, IL, Beth and Joe Cetanyan of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Brad Griffin, Kevin Bowles, Judd King, and Dane King; great granddaughter, Elliana King; sister, Helen VanLerberghe of Moline, IL.
