Mildred R. "Millie" Dorr, 78, formerly of East Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg, IL. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. There will be a Memorial Service January 20, 2011, 3:30 PM at the Church of the Quad Cities, Colona, IL with Rev. Russell Frye officiating. Millie Braun was born July 21, 1932 in Hedgwich, IL, the daughter of Louis and Gertrude Schwermine Braun. She married James E. "Jesse" Dorr October 14, 1978 in Moline, IL. He passed away March 2, 2009. Millie had worked at the Illinois Glove Factory, Effingham, IL, for 17 years. Millie loved her gardening, especially her sunflowers. She was an avid bird lover and had a caring heart for everyone...when people would come around her she just grew on them, even by a simple "Hello"... Survivors include 6 daughters; 3 sons; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren,several great great grandchildren Several nieces & nephews; sister, Betty Gilmore of Buffalo, IL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Mary Braun of Monmouth, IL, Robert and Carolyn Braun of Effingham, IL, Raymond and Mildred Braun of Effingham, IL.
