Jean was born in 1926 in Davenport, IA the daughter of Ben and Ann (Kroos) Stoltenberg. While in college studying art at the University of Iowa, Jean met Robert Miletich at Joe's Place in Iowa City. On January 30, 1951, Jean and Bob were married in Chicago, IL. She had worked as a design professional for a luxury catalog in Chicago after university. Later in life, as an empty nester, Jean worked as a floral designer and as an assistant teacher. Jean's many pursuits and involvements included countless school committees, functions and projects for her children, the American Legion, the Illini Hospital Auxiliary, and the Rock Island Women's Club. Jean and Bob made sure that their six children received college educations. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage before Bob passed in 2003. Mildred/Jean/Millie Miletich took the time she had in this world, embraced it, and made the world a better place. She brought her strength, discipline, good humor and great style to every task she was given. She enjoyed and brought enjoyment to those around her for her no nonsense look on life. Survivors include her dear sister Claire McKinzie, East Moline; her children and their spouses, Cheryl (Rick) Ramirez, Moline; Dr. Robert (Bonnie) Miletich, Amhurst, NY; Amy (Joseph Kovarik) Miletich, Englewood, CO; Katherine (Dan Fernandez) Miletich, Chicago, IL; James (Sian) Miletich, Denver, CO; Tina (Shibu Nair) Miletich, New York, NY; and her grandchildren, Ericka, Marc, Mike, John, Katie, Carter, Jack, Rhiannon, Monty, Samantha, and Jacqueline.
