Mildred “Millie” M. Young, 87, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at UPH-Trinity, Rock Island.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will follow at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Millie was born on April 5, 1938, in Van Buren County, IA, the daughter of Robert and Vuda (Doss) Scotton. She was married to Wayne Bashford until his passing in 1963. Later she married James “Jim” Young on July 4, 1964, in Moline. Millie worked as a CNA until she stayed home to take care of the children. She was an avid Al-Anon member, enjoyed playing bingo and puzzle books. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Millie is survived by her daughters, Shari (Joe) Bottoms, Muscatine, IA, and Janice (Michael) Peterson, Hillsdale, IL; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Palmer and Bev Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; children; Sue “Carolyn “ Prine, Bill Young, and Jimmy Young; siblings, Lillie, Della, Pauline, Wilma, Cecil, Bob, Duane, Floyd, and Leo; and 6 more siblings at infancy.
