Funeral services for Mildred Zalewski, 93, East Moline, are 11 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Visitation is 9:30 AM until service time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mildred died Sunday, January 27, 2008 at her home. Mildred Loe was born August 26, 1914 in Ross, ND, the daughter of Henry and Ingaborg (Larsgaard) Loe. She married Chester Zalewski on January 12, 1944 in Washington DC. She had worked as a clerk/hostess at the former Sperry & Hutchinson, Moline. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a fantastic baker. Survivors include her husband of 64 years Chester, her children and spouses Keith and Karen Zalewski, Minneapolis, MN, and Joann and Robert Klinkowski, Port Byron grandsons and spouse Kenneth Zalewski and Kurtis (Kimberly) Zalewski and great grandchildren Kevin, Laura and Brian, a sister Vivian Hanson Meehan, Chicago and sisters-in-law Anna Mae Loe and Marge Jacobsen. She is preceded in death by her sisters; Maude and Ruth Karoline, and brothers; Torgny, Sidney, Elgin, Amber and Vern Jacobsen.
