Obituary

Milton L. "Tony" Christensen, 93, of East Moline, passed away Wednesday August 12, 2020 at his home. There are no services at this time. A private burial for Milton and his wife, Cinderella, will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., East Moline has been entrusted with arrangements. Tony was born May 24, 1927 in Kankakee, IL, a son of Minnie (Dahling) and Peter Alexander Christensen. He married Ruth Josephine Anderson in Kankakee. She passed away in 1980 He married Cinderella (Walton) Tinker on May 24 1981. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1951, and was honorably discharged in 1954. He worked for the Department of the Army on the Rock Island Arsenal Island until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed aviation and had always wanted to learn to fly. He loved to visit "the boat" and work crossword puzzles. Tony was proud to have been on trips to Ireland and England. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE) in East Moline. He survived by a son, Marc (Kathie Lou Moore) Christensen of Kankakee; grandchildren: Alexander Robert (Nichol) Christensen of Kankakee, Athena Marie Christensen Belluso also of Kankakee; great-grandchildren: Xander Christensen, Cecelia Christensen, Brook Belluso, Morgan Belluso and Avery Belluso; step-grandchildren: James Longnecker, Sean Longnecker, Jason (Cindy) Longnecker, Pam Longnecker; and numerous step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wives Ruth and Cinderella.
