Funeral services for Mona L. Bennitt, 93, Colona, are 1PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Dayton Corners Cemetery, Colona. Visitation is 4-7 PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Colona Fire Department or to the Colona Library. Mrs. Bennitt died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. Mona Johnson was born January 26, 1913 in LaPorte, IN, the daughter of Emil and Martha (Mitchell) Johnson. She married Furmon H. Bennitt, September 20, 1932 in Indiana. Mona owned and operated M&M Beauty Shop in Green Rock for many years, and had served as past president of the Colona PTA. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Harold and Joyce Bennitt, Geneseo, grandchildren (and spouses) Charlene (Charles) Massarolo, Colona, Michelle (Corey) Shepherd, Colona, and Harold (Janice Gaumer) Bennitt Jr., great-grandchildren; Liz, Amanda, Chuck, Deb, Brittni, Emily and Mahaylee, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
