Monty C. Norin, 66, of Hampton, IL, passed away Monday May 4, 2026, at his home, following an extended illness.

Private family services and interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Pheasants Forever or the Rock Island Conservation Club.

Monty was born April 12, 1960, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to Robert and Sharan (Neyrinck) Norin. He married Janet A. Jackson on February 16, 1980, in Moline, IL.

He was a sergeant at the East Moline Correctional Facility for many years. He retired in 2010.

Monty was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and proud owner of 1 share in the team. He enjoyed hunting and classic rock music.

Surviving are his wife, Janet, of Hampton; daughters, Nicole (Dan) Thurman, Fort Dodge, IA, and Shelby (Nathan) Welch, of Colona, IL; grandchildren, Carson, Riley, Myles and Scarlett, all of Colona; mother-in-law, Jane Jackson; brother, Darrin (Chellee) Norin and their family; and sister-in-law, Theresa Severtsgaard, and her family.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sharan; brother, John Severtsgaard; and father-in-law, Leslie Jackson.
