Funeral services for Myra Mae Luce, 88, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Luce died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Lighthouse of Silvis. Myra Roesler was born August 8, 1927, in Waseca, MN, the daughter of Ezra and Ellen Priebe Roesler. She graduated from Taylor University, Upland, IN, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Social Work, with a Minor in Organ Performance. She married Clark Luce November 27, 1954, in Waseca. She retired from Judson Family Services, Kankakee, IL, in 1994. She had a love for music and taught piano lessons for decades. She was the organist and choir director at many churches over the years, lastly at First Baptist Church, East Moline. Myra was very compassionate. She volunteered for many organizations including Youth Hope and the Crisis Pregnancy Center. She enjoyed tutoring children and was an animal lover; she especially loved cats. Survivors include her husband of 61 years and 127 days, Rev. Clark Luce, Moline; daughters, Becky Kelley, Rock Island, IL, Melanie (Troy) Frericks, Ankeny, IA, Rhonda Smith, Rock Island; son, Kevin Luce, South Beloit, IL; grandchildren, Matthew, Ashley, Amanda, Molly, Jacob, Nicole, and Erica; great grandson, Cohwen; brother, Dayton (Ferne) Roesler, Waseca; sister-in-law, Ruth Roesler, Kissimmee, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Calvin Roesler; nephew, Neil Roesler; and son-in-law, Blair Smith.
