Funeral services for Myrtle E. Yodts, 76, Moline, are 10 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4PM. Myrtle died Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. A memorial fund has been established. Myrtle Rockwell was born July 27, 1932 in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Harry and Loretta (Rodgers) Rockwell. She married Robert Yodts on November 24, 1951 in East Moline. He died November 7, 1994. Mrs. Yodts had worked as the cook at the East Moline American Legion for 25 years before becoming the Meal Site Manager for Project Now. She was quick to volunteer for many activities including the free Thanksgiving Dinner that she and Roberta Berthoud would cook at the East Moline American Legion. She was a member of the East Moline American Legion Auxiliary, the 8 and 40, and the Moline Lion's. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans. Myrtle truly enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their many activities. Survivors include her children and spouses; Diane and Mike Morford of East Moline and Darrell and Tammy Yodts of Fruitland, IA, grandchildren; Kevin Yodts, Amy Higel, Lisa Neal, Michaela Huggins, and Anthony Morford, great grandchildren: Kyler, Abbi, Gage, Shauni, Jacob and Brennan, sisters: Ann Smith of East Moline, Marian Mitchell of Colona and Verna May of Atkinson and her brother, Bob Rockwell of Silvis. In addition to her husband, her brothers Richard and Raymond Rockwell preceded her in death.
