Funeral services for Nancy L. DeCook, 75, of Milan, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Conservation Club, Pheasants Forever, or to the family. Mrs. DeCook died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Nancy Calcutt was born July 28, 1932, in Kewanee, the daughter of Hiram and Ruby Johnston Calcutt. She married Bill James. She then married Joseph Ward. She later married Joseph DeCook on Aug. 31, 1984, in Orion. He died March 11, 1997. She had worked in the accounting department for Caterpillar. She had been a member of AARP and Eastern Star No. 178 Davenport. She had been treasurer and member of the Rock Island Conservation Club and Pheasants Forever of Rock Island County. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jack Schmiers, Ironwood, Mich., Jessica and Dave Ward, Moline, Druanne and Sherman Franks, Moline, Ruby and Dave Bendle, Davenport, Wanda and Gerald "Bubba" Easterlin, Ringold, Ga., Susan Hine, Florida; son, Randy DeCook of Florida; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Richard Carlson, Orion. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
