Nancy C. Freebern, 90 of East Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the Summit, Bettendorf, IA. Memorial services will be 3 PM Saturday June 8, 2024 at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Private committal services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
Nancy Claudette Hoexter was born June 30, 1933, in Grand Rapids, MI, the daughter of Arthur and Alice Katt Hoexter. She married Edward Freebern April 14, 1956, in Rock Island, IL. He proceeded her in death on February 1, 2024. Nancy graduated from Lutheran School of Nursing and worked as a nurse for many years. After retiring from nursing, Nancy and Ed would travel all over the country in their camper. When they were not traveling, Nancy enjoyed quilting, volunteering at her church, and spending time with her grandchildren. She taught her grandchildren how to sew and bake. Nancy was a loving and caring mother and grandma.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Wendy) Freebern, Port Byron, IL, Keith (Kathleen) Freebern, SD, and Craig (Jacqueline) Freebern, Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Kyle Freebern, Bettendorf, Jenna (Bradley) Johnson, Coralville, IA, and Kayla Freebern, Winter Garden, FL; brother, Richard Hoexter, Rock Island, IL; and sister-in-law Joan Hoexter, Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Burleigh Hoexter; and sister-in-law, Maxine Hoexter.
Memorials may be made to Silvis Methodist Church.
