We are celebrating the life of Nancy J. Shaeffer, 75, East Moline, at 9AM Monday at Hampton United Methodist Church. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 2-5PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to her church Hampton United Methodist. Mrs. Shaeffer died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island. Nancy Phillips was born November 7, 1932 in Niles, Michigan. She married Clarence L. Shaeffer on October 15, 1949 in Moline. He died May 30, 2002. Mrs. Shaeffer was an incredible person. Whenever she started a project it was done to perfection, whether sewing beautiful clothing for her grandchildren, or baking the perfect birthday cakes every year. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and David King, East Moline, grandchildren; Kelly Shaeffer, Jami (Ryan) Gonzalez and Jessica King, a great granddaughter Stella, a sister Patricia Bishop, Davenport, many nieces and nephews and a host of special friends including Colleen and Dean Genung and Katherine and Ray Bradley.
