Nancy Dixon Zywot, 89, died peacefully on August 29, 2015 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Born April 2, 1926 in Manchester, England, Nancy grew up in New York City. Following her marriage to John Joseph Zywot December 7, 1943, Nancy and John lived in upper state New York, Maryland, New Jersey and Silvis, Illinois. Nancy's reflection on her belief of the magic of books is aptly said by Harry Potter's character Albus Dumbledore: "Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it". Services for Nancy will be private. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery.
