Funeral services for Nellie M. Staab, 104, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 1:30PM Monday in Chillicothe City Cemetery, Chillicothe, IL. Mrs. Staab died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Nellie Marie Ziegler was born April 23, 1906 in Marshal County, IL, the daughter of Frank and Effie Johnson Ziegler. She graduated from Henry Illinois High School in 1924 and attended State Teachers College. She taught in three different one room country schools. She married John Staab of Chillicothe, on October 19, 1927 at the family home in Whitefield Corners, IL. He died in 1974. Survivors include her sons, Irwin (Margaret) Staab of Silvis, Lloyd (Marilyn) Staab of East Moline; granddaughter, Jayne (James) Field of Bettendorf, IA; grandsons, Michael (Jaclyn) Staab of Geneseo, IL, Wayne Staab of Orange Park, FL, Richard Staab of Minneapolis, MN, Jeffrey Staab of Morrison, IL; 6 great grandchildren.
