Nelliett Childs, 69, Moline, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Nelliett was born May 24, 1940 in Batesville, Mississippi, the daughter of Tommy and Jessie (Figgs) Ellis. She married Mack D. Childs on May 28, 1955 in Batesville. She had worked at an in home care-giver. In her free times, she would love spending time with her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed shopping, planting flowers, fixing puzzles and sitting outside on her porch. She wasn't only our mother and grandmother, she was our best friend. She will be greatly missed, but will live in our hearts forever. Nelliett was a member of the Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include her children and spouses: Mack and Rosemary Childs, Moline, James and Virgie Childs, Minneapolis, MN, Larry Childs, Minneapolis, Theresa Childs, Denver, CO, Marty Childs, Minneapolis, Ted and Julie Childs, St. Paul, MN, Ricky Childs, Minneapolis, Roger Childs, Cedar Rapids, IA and Kay Childs, Moline, fourteen grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, sisters and brothers; Anna Clara Ray, Memphis, Jesse May Echols, Memphis, Della Caldwell, Milwaukee, WI, William Ellis, Memphis and James Ellis, Memphis, Her mother Jesse Mitchell, Memphis, and best friends Connie and Sara. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Nellie Figgs, her father Tommy Ellis and brothers Tommy Ellis Jr., and Dennis Ellis.
