Funeral services for Nicholas E. "Nick" Johnson, 71, of Moline, IL, will be 10:30 am Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Mr. Johnson passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.

Nick was born May 10, 1951, in Moline, IL, the son of Harold and Mildred Miller Johnson. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Diana DePauw April 15, 1989, in East Moline. He retired from John Deere Harvester March 31, 2010, after 35 years of service. Nick was a Chicago Bears fan. He loved Christmas and celebrated it all year long. He was very handy and was known for his sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Diana; children, Sheena Johnson, Silvis, IL, Troy Kirfman, Moline, David Goossens, Moline, and Teresa (Steven) Bailey, Bluegrass, IA; grandchildren, Ivy, Lowen, Layden, and Leah; and siblings, John (Judy) Johnson, Colona, IL, and Sue (Harold) Ethridge, East Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, NikkiAna Johnson; and his sister, Isabelle Opatovsky.
