Nicolas C. Davila, 85, Silvis, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at Genesis Illini, Silvis. A private Mass will be held and entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Nicolas was born Sept. 11, 1931, in Waxahachie, Texas, the son of Vincente and Genevieve (Carrasco) Davila. He married Dora De Los Santos on March 2, 1952, in Eagle Pass, Texas. He retired in 1992 from the former International Harvester. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dora; children, Nicolas (Becky) Davila, Iowa City, Ana Dovalina, Longmont, Colorado, Rodolfo (Bonnie) Davila, Moline, Alma (Phil) Wieland, Bloomington, Illinois, and Ricardo (Derha) Davila, Charlotte, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
