Nina was born on June 30, 1956 in Milton, Massachusetts to Donald and Beverly (Foss) Butterworth. The family moved to the Quad Cities in 1965, but she remained a Boston girl at heart. Nina graduated from United Township High School in 1974. She married Carlo Ferreri on December 26, 1992 at First Presbyterian Church in East Moline. Nina fought a courageous three-year battle with cancer, all the while displaying her impeccable style and class, dignity and inspiring bravery. She worked at Deere Employees Credit Union in Moline for 22 years and valued the friendships she formed with her colleagues and customers. Nina loved to shop and was a talented decorator. Her home was decked out beautifully for each holiday, which she enjoyed sharing with friends and family. She was an avid sports fan and always rooted for the Fighting Illini, Chicago Bears and her Boston teams. Nina lived for her grandchildren and loved her family beyond measure. She went home to be with her Lord, her father Donald and her brother Ronnie. Nina is survived by her devoted husband Carlo; sons, Chris (Melissa) Gottwalt of Le Claire and Nick (Tara Jimenez) Gottwalt of Geneseo; daughter, Elisa (Kevin) Wax of Rockford; step-daughters, Christina Ferreri of Moline, Melissa (Mike) Cantrell of Milan, Amy (Aaron) Bloome of Moline and Anna (Mike) Perez of Moline; grandchildren, Garrett and Evelyn Wax, and Amelia and Freddy Jimenez; mother, Beverly Butterworth of East Moline; brother, Steven (Daniela) Butterworth of Boise, Idaho; sister, Karen (Doug) Van Treeck of Gurnee, Illinois; nieces, Aimee Butterworth and Kasondra Van Treeck and nephews, Erik and Ian Butterworth; and countless loyal and loving friends. Her light will shine on through all who knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Constantinou and his staff, as well as the wonderful team at Unity Point Hospice.
