Funeral Services for Norman H. LaPorte, 88, of Silvis, IL, will be 1:00PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday. Mr. LaPorte died Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Forest Hill Health & Rehab Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Norman was born May 11, 1918 in Glen Flora, WI, the son of Cashus and Amanda (Fawley) LaPorte. He married Bernice M. Dierikx August 11, 1945 in Moline, IL. He served in the US Army 3rd Infantry Division during WWII, where he received two Bronze Stars for Valor and a Combat Infantry Badge. He had worked as a mechanic for local businesses over the years. Survivors include; his wife of 61 years, Bernice "Bea" LaPorte of Silvis; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Reichwein of Port Byron, IL, Judy and Richard Allison of East Moline, Peggy and Paul Kraan of East Moline; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren.
