Funeral services for Ole M. Greenley Jr., 64, of Silvis, IL, will be 11:00AM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services at the funeral home on Wednesday. Mr. Greenley died Friday, October 11, 2013 at The VA Hospital, Iowa City, IA. Memorials may be made to the family. Ole was born June 10, 1949 in Morris, IL, the son of Ole and Frances Vorek Greenley Sr. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Cheryl Hintz March 17, 2011 in Rock Island. Ole had worked construction for many years in the Quad City area. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Greenley, Silvis; stepdaughters, Tracey (Tim) Volkert, Bettendorf, IA, and Lisa (J.D.) DeLaRosa, Silvis; stepson, Scott Shrum, Woodland Park, CO; 9 grandchildren; sisters, Jo Ann Chalus, Marifran (James) Black, and Karen (Eric) Moore, all of Morris, IL; brother, Christopher (Tonya) Greenley, Morris; aunt, Virginia Contonment, FL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Simpson; sister, Kathleen Knudson; brother, Richard Greenley; brother-in-law, Robert Chalus; and nephew, Dustin Greenley.
