On Friday, November 24, 2023 we said goodbye to the sweetest lady. Patricia A. "Pat" Barr, 77, of East Moline, IL, passed away surrounded by her family at UnityPoint Health, Rock Island, IL.

Services will be held Saturday, December, 2nd at 10am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline, IL.

Pat was born July 13, 1946, in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Richard and Verneil (Fickel) Reid. She was a graduate of Moline High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Terry Barr on May 2, 1965, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline.

Pat was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was a beautiful soul who lived for her family and was an inspiration to all who knew her, always putting the needs of others before herself. She will be remembered for her radiant smile and her sweet and gentle spirit.

Pat worked at Illini Hospital for 17 years as a Unit Tech on the Surgical floor. Pat was strong in her faith and after retirement she loved to make inspirational covenant cards to send to friends and family. She would also donate the cards to women's prisons, hospitals and to hospice centers. She loved to go fishing and hunting with her husband. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading and dancing. In the last years of her life she fought a brave and courageous battle with Alzheimers.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the staff at Cedarhurst Memory Care in Moline for the excellent love and care given to Pat for the last 2 years, and also to Compassus Hospice Care in the final months of her life.

She is survived and loved by her husband, Terry Barr, East Moline; children, Mike (Kim) Barr, Cincinnati, OH, and Holly Vermeire, East Moline; grandchildren, Conor Barr, Jeffrey Vermeire, and Ashley (Ryan) Jahn Vermeire; sister, Sharon (Jerry) Morrison, TN; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother in law Beverly Barr and son-in-law, Jim Vermeire.

We are quite certain that she and her son-in-law, Jim, are now the reigning bags champions in Heaven.

As Jim would say, "Good one Grandma!"

True indeed, a good one Mom, a life well lived.
