Patricia Anne Powell, 86, formerly of Moline, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield, IL. Funeral services are 10 AM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is 4:00-7:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Patricia Stevens was born July 21, 1928 in Moline, the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Barr Stevens. She married Douglas R. Powell on November 25, 1949 in Silvis. He died on July 9, 1993. She retired in 1987 from the former Moline Public Hospital. She was a graduate of Black Hawk College, Moline. She had been an active member of Bethel Baptist Church, Port Byron. Upon retirement, Patricia had volunteered as a BeFriender at Trinity Regional Health, Moline. Music was a very important part of her life. Whenever her children or grandchildren performed it would fill her with joy. She enjoyed bird watching, camping, and was an avid reader. Survivors include her children, Penny(David) Clemmons, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Joanne Powell (Bob Franco), Wheaton, IL, Thomas (Wendy) Powell, Sherwood, Wisconsin, John Powell (Dennell Snyder) Durant, IA,; grandchildren, Chelsea Clemmons, Amy Franco (Patrick Sanchez), Nina Franco, John Franco, Tommy Powell and Ivyanne Powell.
