Patti L. Stojan, 56, of East Moline, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center - Illini Campus, Silvis. Services will be 11 AM Monday, at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, with burial at Hampton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6PM Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, and one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. Patti Medina was born February 2, 1954 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of Bernard and June (Lorenz) Medina. She married her high school sweetheart, Clark Stojan, on August 24, 1973 in Pingree Grove, IL. She worked as an administrative secretary before moving to the Quad Cities. Patti devoted her life to her family and church. She found joy as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was giving and compassionate to those in need of a Christian friend. She was called to share her love of Christ through church work including Ladies Aid, LWML, Altar Guild, With Eager Hands, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School. She contributed to the foundation of the East Moline Spanish mission, Iglesia Evangelica Luterana Cristo Rey, and was active in the christian community of Living Waters Via de Cristo. She is survived by her husband, Clark; daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel and Derek Duffy, East Moline, and Martha and Clinton Merritt, Fort Gordon, GA; grandson, Jackson Merritt; parents, Bernard and June Medina, Pingree Grove; siblings (and spouses), Linda Leitner (Gary) of Elgin, Marcia Medina (Duane Slayton) of Hampshire, IL, Thomas Medina of Elgin, Margo Block (Bill) of Elgin, William Medina (Joanne) of Crystal Lake, IL, Michael Medina (Lynee Alves) Barrington, IL and Kaye Medina-Meyer (Steve Meyer) of Hampshire and many nieces and nephews.
