Funeral services for Paul J. Brown, 92, of East Moline, IL, will be 1:30 PM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Garden Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Brown died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Rosewood Health Care, Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Paul was born August 11, 1914 in Centerville, IA, the son of William and Bertha (Smiser) Brown. He married Geraldine (Welge)Paulson January 10, 1980. She died March 18, 1989. He had worked for the former Iowa Illinois Gas & Electric for 31 years, retiring in 1979. He was a good neighbor to anyone who needed help. He loved flowers and feeding the birds and squirrels. He was a sports fan. Bowling and playing pool had been a big part of his life. Survivors include: stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Lavon and Paul Peton of Graettinger, IA, Joanne Stark of East Moline, IL, Sheryl and Bob Marr of Minneapolis, MN; stepson and daughter-in-law, Marlin and Maryanna Paulson of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; 14 step grandchildren; 18 step great-grandchildren; 3 step great-great-grandchildren; brother, Al Brown of Rock Island, IL.
