Funeral services for Paul W. DeWaele, 62, East Moline, are 1:30PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Paul died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Paul was born August 6, 1947 in Moline, the son of Andrew and Helen Beckstrom DeWaele. He married Mary Lou Tucker on May 2, 1975 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. He worked as a Optician at Cole Vision, Davenport. He enjoyed fishing and "loved to win". Survivors include his wife Mary Lou, children; Lori Ann (Darryl) Blackburn, Bettendorf, Jim Kerr, East Moline and Mike (Nancy) Kerr, East Moline, seven grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sisters; Marcia (Richard) McKnight, Osceola, IA and Ruth Ann Boisvert, Moline; a brother Mike DeWaele, Moline; a special friend Gene Guy of Davenport, and a host of in-laws and great friends.
