Funeral services for Paul H. Garner, 64, of Hampton, IL, will be 10 am Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Services will also be live-streamed at http://www.facebook.com/vanhoefuneralhome. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3 pm. Mr. Garner passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Genesis, Silvis surrounded by his wife and five children.
Paul was born April 14, 1957, in East St. Louis, IL, the son of William and Henrietta "Hank" (Ewald) Garner. He married Karen "Kae" Cosgrave August 22, 1981, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He and Karen were graduates of Creighton University School of Pharmacy, Omaha, NE. After graduation, he worked at the Nevada City Hospital, Nevada, MO, where he was Director of Pharmacy. After moving to the Quad Cities Paul and Karen owned and operated Cosgrave Pharmacy, Silvis, and Green Park Pharmacy, Colona. Later, Paul worked at the Silvis HyVee pharmacy. Paul was a kind and gentle man who was a mentor to many people. He was a true family man, and attended thousands of sporting events for his children and grandchildren. He was a life long Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was a devout catholic and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he was a trustee. He was a member of the Cosgrave Family Rosary Club. He was proprietor of the legendary "Bunker III". Paul was also known far and wide for his Donald Duck impersonation.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Andy Garner (Kristen Johnson) Plainfield, IL, Katie (Chris) Drew, East Moline, Matt (Sara) Garner, Davenport, IA, Stephanie (Tom) Farrell, East Moline, and Lindsey Garner, San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Khloe, Kaleigh, Michael, Ella, Jack, and Teagan; his mother, Henrietta Garner, Denton, TX, and his sister, Jane (Rick) Wood, Argyle, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
In lieu of gifts and flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
