Paul L. Powell , 69, of Moline, passed away Monday December 30, 2024, surrounded by his family at his home in Moline.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Hope United Church of Christ, Moline. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 10th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Paul's family invites those attending the visitation to be in casual attire or favorite sports team jersey. Memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ or Genesis Hospice.

Paul was born November 6, 1955 in Moline, Illinois, a son of Ernest and Delores (Starr) Powell. He married Leona F. Alcala on June 11, 1977 in East Moline, IL.

He retired from Montgomery/Kone following 30 years of service.

He was a member of Hope United Church of Christ. Paul was an avid Chicago Bears fan.

Surviving are his wife, Leona, of Moline; sons, Keith (Anna) Pyles, East Moline, and Joshua (Kim) Powell, of Moline; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Sue Snider, East Moline, Bruce Powell, Coal Valley, Cheryl Mickelson, Silvis, and Ruth Pisman, Silvis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; Ernest and Delores; brother, William Powell; brothers-in-law, Ed Mickelson and Steven Pisman; and daughters-in-law, Doris Pyles and Trisha Fitch.
